2015 Fifth Naglee Park Vintage Home and Garden Tour

SJWC's Fifth Naglee Park Vintage Home Tour includes five historic homes and three lovely gardens, a boutique of hand-made items and antiques, a chat with local historian April Halberstadt about the history of Naglee Park and General Naglee, and delightful boxed lunches served in at a lovely garden. All events occur within a few blocks. Park once and enjoy the day walking through historic Naglee Park.

All proceeds from the event are dedicated towards preserving the historic SJWC Clubhouse and expanding its capacity to meet the needs of the 21st century.

Naglee Park Vintage Home Tour ExteriorThe San Jose Woman's Club 2015 Naglee Park Vintage Home Tour presents a rare opportunity to view five architectural gems and three lovely gardens.

All homes demonstrates the skills of their architects and builders and have retained their exterior integrity as well as many original interior fixtures. All gardens are professionally landscaped and offer a range of xeriscape concepts.

 

A delightful boxed lunch will be served at a fourth lovely garden. The boxed lunch includes a Ham and Cheese Rollup, Chicken Salad and Mini Croissant, three Belgium chocolate cookies, Fresh Fruit, and Iced Tea or Lemonade. Wine and champagne is available for a suggested donation of $5 per glass.

Be sure to purchase a tour ticket that includes the boxed lunch.

 

April HalberstadtThe Treasure Boutique, which includes handcrafted clothing, jewelry, antiques and collectibles, is free and open to all.

Naglee Park historian April Halberstadt will speak about the history of Naglee Park and General Naglee at the Treasure Boutique at 1:00 p.m.

Vendor and Sponsor Opportunities Still Available

More than 600 guests are anticipated to attend this year’s Tour, based on the 2013 Home Tour success. All proceeds from the tour are dedicated towards renovating the San Jose Woman’s Club landmark Spanish Revival Clubhouse, built in 1930 and designed by architects Wolfe and Higgins. Funds are needed to update the Club’s heating and air-conditioning system and improve the safety and flexibility of the venue as a community and performing arts center.

All sponsor levels include complimentary tickets and a listing the Souvenir event program. To participate as a sponsor, please complete the Sponsor Application Form and return it before April 17, 2015. Sponsorships must be received before April 17, 2015 to be included in the program. The San Jose Woman’s Club is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your sponsorship is tax deductible, less the value of tickets received.

Vendors

A limited number of 10’ by 10’ vendor spaces are available at the Treasure Boutique, which is open to the public and does not require a home tour ticket. We are looking for vendors who will offer antiques, collectibles or items suitable as Mother’s Day gifts. Typical items include: jewelry, scarves, scents and soaps, pillows, decorative wall art, plants, table linens, antiques, small furniture, note cards, and period tiles and fixtures.
